Skuup Browser Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 8, 2026
This policy explains how Skuup, LLC ("Skuup," "we," "us") handles information when you use the Skuup browser extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge (the "extension"). It supplements Skuup's general Privacy Policy. Skuup, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, operates the extension and the servers it talks to.
What the extension does
The extension lets you name your price on a product you are looking at. When you click the Skuup icon (or use its keyboard shortcut) on a page, it reads the product shown on that page, lets you enter a price, and sends your offer to Skuup's servers so a seller can answer.
When the extension reads a page
Only when you click the Skuup icon or press its shortcut on that page. The extension has no permission to read pages on its own, does not run in the background on the sites you visit, and does not record your browsing history.
Information we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code and to email you a seller's answer. We do not use passwords.
- Product details you choose to submit: the product name, brand, option, list price, product identifiers (such as SKU or barcode), an image link, and the address of the page you were on, as read from that page when you clicked the icon, plus any corrections you type.
- Your offers: the price and quantity you named, and the seller's responses.
- Technical data: the extension version and standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path). Logs never contain the content of your offers, your sign-in codes or your session token.
- Install signal: when the extension is installed it creates a random identifier that is not linked to your email address or to any page. The first time you open the Skuup panel, and the first time you open it on a product page, the extension sends that identifier, its version and the name of your browser (Chrome, Edge or Safari) to our servers, once each, so we can count how many installs are used. The identifier stays the same for that install, so it is not anonymous in the strict sense, but nothing about you is attached to it. Uninstalling the extension removes it from your browser.
- Your share link: a short code of your own that the panel shows as an invite link and adds to the "Share this deal" message. When someone opens your link we record that it was opened (time and browser type) and set a cookie on our site for 90 days, so that if that person then signs in through the emailed sign-in link in the same browser, we can record that they came from your link. Neither of you is shown the other's email address. Nothing is paid for a referral at this time.
How we use it
- To route your offer to a seller and show you their answer.
- To email you sign-in codes and, when a seller accepts or counters, the outcome.
- When no Skuup seller carries the product, to keep your named price so we can tell you if a seller joins, and to show stores the demand from real buyers. Sellers see the product and price, never your email address.
- To keep the service secure (rate limits, abuse prevention) and to fix problems.
We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to assess creditworthiness. We do not transfer it to third parties except the service providers below and a seller who receives your offer (product, price, quantity and an anonymous buyer reference).
Service providers
- Railway (hosting, United States) runs our servers and database.
- Resend (email delivery) sends sign-in codes and offer notifications from notify.skuup.co.
- Sellers on Skuup receive your offer through Skuup's merchant software (a Shopify app). Payment, shipping and returns are handled by the seller under the seller's own terms and privacy policy.
Retention
Offers and their history are kept while your account exists. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Sessions expire after 90 days or when you sign out. You can ask us to delete your account and offers at info@skuup.co.
Your controls
- Sign out from the panel's Settings. This revokes the session on our servers.
- Withdraw any open offer from "My offers".
- Uninstalling the extension removes all data it stored in your browser.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post changes here with a new effective date.
